Twitchysticks!

Best of 2007

From KnitLit

(but I first read it at Knitter in Progress)

1. your best FO of the year
This afghan:

Two years and finally done!

2. best FO of the year made by a blog you link to
Anything here. Just good serviceable knitting.

3. best yarn you tried
Before I answer this, let it be known that the only LYS near me closed in June and it was a faux business to begin with (the shop owner saw it as more a hobby than a money-making venture and did not run it like a business....like having regular hours). That being said, the nicest yarn I got my hands on this year was Patons SWS. Sorry, it doesn't get any more exotic than this.

4. best new knitting technique or gadget you tried in 2007
Dumb, but true: I finally got into the habit of simply slipping the first stitch of each row.

5. designer who most amazed & inspired you throughout the year
Questions like this reveal my true knitter: Utter Newb.
Elizabeth Zimmerman and Sally Melville are two designers I always turn to.
Although I have never tried one of her designs, Annie Modesitt is a knitter whose book ("Confessions of a Knitting Heretic"), is always within reach. I've learned much from her.

6. knitting resolutions for 2008--what's next for you and your blog?
hmmm. I don't like to make resolutions or goals. I go into them with the best of intentions and it lasts a week. Then it's in your archives taunting you for years to come. BUT, I have been thinking about my blog a lot of late. Why do I blog? Does anyone read it? If no one did, would I still blog? Does ravelry replace my blog? I'll have to see where these thoughts lead in 2008.
