"I'm not slow. I just savor every stitch"

Hello, loves
February 19, 2006

I am still here. I think of everyone almost every day.

I have no excuses for my sporadic blogging. Working full time has nothing to do with it. If I really tried, I could manage my time.

Working with young people is a challenge, but it is wonderful. Granted, some are complete jackasses who expect everything to be done for them. Some make stoo-pid decisions ("yeah, my dad is dying of liver failure due to his drinking problem...but I got sooooo wasted this week-end"), some I have a really hard time trying to find a redeeming quality in some of them. Sadly, these are the students that are the most popular and admired. Then there are students with hearts of gold. They always think of others before themselves. They are intelligent and have a lot to say about their lives and the world they live in. They also are the least noticed. Why has it happened in this country that mediocrity and cruelty are rewarded?

In other news, I received my yarn from Beth and I am knitting away on a k3 p3 skinny scarf. I have a student who comes in my room and knits every day...she thought kool-aid yarn was the coolest thing she had ever seen.

And Deneen, I just ordered some shea butter. I could care less what it smells like (well, actually...cat poo scent would not be good). I love Shea Butter. My skin gets sooooooo dry and itchy in the winter!
