Back to the old grind
January 4, 2006
Went back to work on Tuesday. I must say the vacation was just the right length. I was really ready to get back. I missed interacting with the students. The time to myself was relaxing and recuperative.
And yes, I have finally figured out that I teach to escape reality. Schools and the way they operate in no way reflect reality. Nor do they "educate"...but that is another post.
So the best way to get you up to speed is....ta dah! A bulleted list:
- I have joined the Winter Wool and Square-a-Month Swaps at Crochetville. I've got the wool and my partner. Just need to pack it and ship it. Have the yarn for the square and the partner, too. I'll work on the square this week-end. I've already got a pattern in mind.
- Started another scarf. Couldn't resist this cute and versatile pattern. I'm just using TLC Baby in white. Some people meditate, some people do yoga. I start scarves.
- Yes, I did finish the scarf for my student. I just forgot to take a picture of the finished product. I got a hug and she came by my classroom to show me how it looks on her. Unfortunately, we are having an unseasonable warm-spell. But that should change come Friday.
- I'm back in the 63 squares CAL. I've completed 12! I even have a button I can change every time I complete a square...which I need to do...
- I am being VERY tempted by the Sampler Stripes CAL at Crochetville.
I'm pretty sure that is about it....
